Claudio Naranjo "About how the syntactic becomes semantic during the first bars of the Golberg variation"
ABSTRACT
This time, Claudio Naranjo brings us over a syntatic analysis of the first eight phrases from Bach´s work "The variations of Goldberg" to investigate in which way the basic elements of music (tempo, rhythm, notes and intervals, harmony, etc.) Can transmit an "emotional scenery". Through this partial analysis, the author takes a step forward to the clarification of musical semantics proving that it is possible the explanation of complex musical meanings starting from elemental meanings.
KEYWORDS: Musical syntax, musical semantics, sonorous architecture, emotional scenery, first compasses.
